Buoyed by success in securing significant orders from major retailers for its 75cl Sparkling White Zinfandel Rosé, Sovio is now launching a single serve size into the UK On-Trade. At just 5.5% ABV, the 25cl bottles can be charged out at the same price as a large glass of still wine.
With Sovio's lighter style, and yet with all the flavour and aroma of consumers' regular wine choices, Sovio Wines is confident of a enthusiastic consumer reception to its 5.5% product.
"We undertook the largest ever piece of consumer research* into the lower alcohol wine category. The findings show there is overwhelming evidence of a demand for a lighter style, but one that exhibits all the aroma and flavour of a good wine," explains Sovio’s General Manager Tony Cass. "Drinkers in pubs and bars have had to make a quality sacrifice with low alcohol alternatives in the past, whereas Sovio 5.5% has the advantages of being a 100% serious wine with all its original flavour," he says.
California Winemaker and Technical Director David Stevens uses the TFC Method - a world first combination of winemaker know-how and cutting edge technology - to lower the level of alcohol in his wines, without a reduction in taste or aroma, resulting in a lower duty rate than for a normal sparkling wine.
