Windsong Merlot

A classic Merlot, full of character and flavor yet with a smooth texture and moderate tannins. Produced primarily from grapes grown on California's cool central coast, Windsong Merlot's slight reduction of alcohol has unmasked the wine's black cherry, current and plum jam character. This beautifully balanced wine finishes with a hint of oak associated spice and a long berry driven finish.

TFC's Windsong brand is dedicated to big, luscious New World-style wines which, in spite of their mouth filling structure and amplitude of aroma and flavour, are much softer on the palate than conventional wines of this style. Windsong wines, both white and red, are made from fully ripe varietal grapes which would normally have resulted in high alcohol being an unavoidable part of the structure. Thanks to the TFC Method, however, the wines have been crafted to offer the best of both worlds – big aroma and flavour without the alcoholic 'hotness' which would have characterized these wines if the alcohol level had not been reduced from over 14.5% to approximately 11%.
